Final Major Project | Art Blog

Hi guys!

So with my Final Major Project deadline fast approaching I thought I would share it will you all. The title I chose for my FMP (Final Major Project) is 'Geometry and Form'. During my trip to Berlin I visited multiple galleries and exhibitions including the Permagon Museum, The Hamburger Bahnhof, The Jüdisches (Jewish) Museum, The Boros Bunker and the Deutsches Banks' 'The Circle Walked Casually' exhibition. All of these Museums were incredibly refreshing and inspiring but I continued to be drawn to an idea I had for a project last year, Geometry.
Initially I thought this would be simple patterns, designs and sculptures; I have always been drawn to the more corporate graphic design/ illustration side of art so this really appealed to me! But upon beginning my contextual research over the holidays, I found I had really only just scratched the surface! Before I knew it I was delving into religious and spiritual themes, all the deep stuff! Did you know theres such a thing as sacred geometry!? If your interested in this kind of stuff I would definitely recommend taking a look! Anyways so I looked at shape and started to explore polyhedrons and Metatrons Cube using printing, mainly screen print so far but I am going to do some more this week then hopefully jump into 3D with some materials my dad managed to get hold of for me! Here are some snaps of my sketchbook/ work so far! I know not much seeings as I am six weeks into my project but I am really going to put my foot down and plough through before we break up for easter! Hope you enjoy them, any questions or recommendations of artists or themes would be greatly appriciated! I love hearing from my peers when it comes to my work!
